Know Your Rights. It's the Best Protection

When women leave their abusive partners their lives are at the greatest risk.
Most battered women do not know that Orders of Protection, when enforced,
will keep them safe. There are powerful laws to protect women, but they’re useless
if women aren’t aware of them. This insight inspired the tagline
"Know your rights. It’s the best protection."  Shockingly, abusive men
do not view their behavior as criminal or illegal. Studies showed
legal repercussions pose a powerful deterrent to these men.
